Fresh faced for spring

This look is easy to do and simple enough to wear to school on a daily basis. Before beginning make-up application, it’s important to first prime your face with SPF moisturizer and let it set for about three minutes. This allows time for your skin to take in the moisture and SPF for protection from the sun. I recommend Clinique’s Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion which deeply penetrates the skin in order to give it that silk-like look and feel.

The next step is to apply foundation. The choice of foundation is up to you, but I recommend using natural, powdered mineral makeup. This is healthier to use as opposed to liquid and doesn’t look as heavy. Dior’s Diorskin Nude Natural Glow Fresh Powder makeup SPF 10 is a great choice because it’s natural, feels light, and gives you enough coverage.

Now it’s time to brighten up those eyes with Benefit’s Lemon-Aid, a color-correcting eyelid primer. Apply this underneath your eye and all over the lid (the eye’s lid ends right at the crease). This step is the key to this look because it makes you look more awake and fresh-faced. Let the primer set, and then continue with an eye-opening, neutral eye shadow. I recommend using Benefit’s Velvet Eyeshadow in the color Fawn Over Me. Lightly apply this on your lid.

After applying eyeshadow, proceed to applying mascara. For volume and length, use Benefit’s BADgal Lash mascara in the color Rich Black. This mascara doesn’t flake, smudge, or make your lashes fall. (Quick Tip for extra volume: After one coat of mascara, curl your eyelashes with an eyelash curler and then apply a few more coats).

An optional step is to apply a light bronzer for more skin warmth. Use the Too Faced Caribbean in a Compact bronzer in Snow Bunny. This has very light shimmer to illuminate the skin and gives a nice, naturally bronzed color.

To finish off the look, prime your lips with an SPF lip balm and then apply a peachy lip gloss. First use Benefit’s Benetint Lip Blam SPF 15. Over it, apply Laura Mercier’s Lip Glace in Bellini, which is a shimmering peach coral.
