After winning only two games in the 2011-2012 season, the boy’s basketball team got right back on track this year with the help of their new coach, Mike Evans. The boys pulled out an overall record of six wins and fourteen losses by the end of the 2012-2013 season.

Girls’ Basketball Bounces Back

With the loss of key player Sarah Mannelly, class of 2012, the girls’ basketball team faced a challenge entering the 2013 season. According to senior captain Georgia Hunsinger, “Going into the season I think it’s safe to say none of us had high expectations. We had just lost a valuable player (Sarah Mannelly) and we didn’t doubt our abilities, but weren’t extremely confident that we’d be as much of a competitor in the FCIAC as we had been in the previous years.”
Cheerleading team ends season strong with 1st place win

Entering the season short three key athletes, the varsity cheerleading team was forced to work around their multiple injuries. However, the girls overcame their obstacles, placing seventh out of 16 teams in the Fairfield Interscholastic Athletic Conference (FCIAC) competition.

On Saturday, Mar. 2, at Terry Conners, the New Canaan High School girls hockey team took the CT state title after their 2-0 victory over Hall Conard. This is the team’s third state victory in the past four years and the win rounded out their near-spotless record to 24-1.
