The Connecticut Academic Performance Test (CAPT) is the standardized testing that sophomores have been taking since the early nineties. The tests are state-based exams used to measure the performance of Connecticut students. “The exams are used to test student proficiency across the state,” Principal Dr. Bryan Luizzi said. “They are brought in to align high school curriculums with state standards.”

With Career Night tomorrow, the committee is making final preparations for the event. However, those running the event are not the only ones doing last minute alterations, as speakers are also planing for the big night.

After being forced to postpone because of an impending snowstorm, the Charity Link club was able to host their second annual Coffee House event on Wednesday, Mar. 20 to raise money for Sandy Hook Elementary School. The night was full of coffee, baked goods and a long list of performances to entertain those who came to the event.

With 24 business sectors being represented, as well as the introduction of more guest speakers, including NCHS alumni, Career Night offers areas of interest for the whole student body.

In hopes of breaking attendance records for this year’s event, the Career Night board increased publicity by creating a website specifically for the event, as well as getting celebrities to endorse the night with videos encouraging students to come.
