Pura Vida sends 100,000 meals to Haiti

This May, Pura Vida has lined up three interactive events in hopes of raising $17,000 to package 100,000 meals to send to hungry children in Haiti.
On Saturday and Sunday the non-profit organization and student club held an event at the school to pack the meals. On Saturday alone, 400 people volunteered and packaged some 60,000 meals.
In a further effort to reach their fundraising goal, the club held a pie toss on Thursday, May 6 during lunch; and on Sunday, May 23, there will be a 5k Fun Run…
Biology students visit the Bronx Zoo
On Monday, April 26th fifty-four biology students went on a field trip to The Bronx Zoo in New York City. During their tour, the group visited the Sea Lion Pool, Big Bears exhibit, Himalayan Highlands exhibit, Tiger Mountain,the Monkey House, the Mouse House, the World of Birds exhibit, the World of Reptiles exhibit, the Madagascar! exhibit, the Congo Gorilla forest, and the African Plains exhibit.

Planting of Mary Long Garden to begin this May

Last June, Mary Long, who had been in the school system for 36 years, passed away. This year, students and faculty will commemorate Ms. Long by planting flowers around the library patio.
Students are asked to participate by bringing and planting flowers on Saturday, May 15 from 9:00 am until noon. Students and faculty are also welcomed to the Dedication Ceremony which will take place on Tuesday, May 25 at 2:20 pm…
