This past Saturday at 1:30 pm, New Canaanites came together at Dunning Stadium to watch the much-anticipated homecoming game, and no one was disappointed by the outcome. New Canaan beat St. Joes 35 to 25.

“We knew it was going to be a hard-fought game,” said Cody Newton, co-captain and starting wide receiver. But the team wasn’t nervous. “We just wanted to get back at them,” he said.
On Thursday, October 22nd, NCHS students turned back the clock. According to their respective grades, students dressed up to match a decade as per tradition. Freshman dressed from the 1950’s, sophomores the ‘60’s, juniors the ‘70’s, and seniors the 1980’s.
Turn Back the Clock Day is loved by many. “I think Decades Day is pretty outgoing,” senior Kaitlin Hughes said. I think it boosts spirits because we’re losing spirit days and need to be spirited as much as we can when given the chance,” senior Kaitlin Hughes said.

This year’s spirit week kicked off with a bang on Wednesday, October 21, as NCHS students descended on school dressed not in jeans and t-shirts, but in a variety of costumes more suited for Halloween. The much-awaited Clone Day had arrived.
For some of NCHS’s newcomers, it must have been quite a culture shock after the days of “black shirt and jeans” Clone Day at Saxe. …
