Scheduled to be in stores on Saturday April 3rd, the iPad is a seemingly larger version of the iTouch and iPhone. Junior and senior prom are coming up, and quickly. The juniors are scrambling to find dates for their April prom, and the seniors are waiting for their turn in May. Though both proms are both a little ways away, girls have already begun searching for their perfect dresses.

A little over a week ago, the usually quiet town of New Canaan was transformed into chaotic, tree-strewn confusion when a Nor’easter hit town and the surrounding area. Power lines were downed by wind gusts and falling trees, and streets became labyrinths, ending in blocked roads. Homes and students alike were left powerless for days. It can be said on any Sunday afternoon while students are still holding off on doing their homework, that browsing through photo albums of the weekend’s parties on Facebook is an unofficial pastime of sorts. While the contents of the photos may range from squeaky clean to questionable, there is usually a common theme.

Dear John, why the hype?

In the past couple of weeks, mini-feeds have been flooded with favorite quotes and criticisms of the new Nicholas Sparks adapted movie, Dear John. The build up of the film, which recently surpassed James Cameron’s Avatar, has rubbed the student body in different ways.

The expectation surrounding Dear John could be a factor as to why so many students were inclined to see the film. “I think the hype is a bit much, but it’s what actually made me want to see it, so it’s effective,” junior Stephanie Toth said.
