Tony Pavia was born on April 6, 1956 at Stamford Hospital in Stamford, Connecticut. Mr. Pavia
grew up in Stamford along with two older brothers, where he attended Stevens Elementary School. Through his first four grades, Mr. Pavia struggled with tremendous “school anxiety” and was terrified of going to school. However, he eventually grew out of this emotion. For middle school, Mr. Pavia attended Sacred Heart Parochial. He even served as the Student Body President in the eighth grade. However, he claims everything went downhill from there.

The Wide World of Jerseys

The struggle to the find and buy the perfect jersey is something that plagues all sports fans. Qualities like team, color and player all play a key role in the deciding on a jersey. Students shared their favorite jerseys as well as characteristics they looked for when buying jerseys.

“They quality doesn’t really matter, its more the person,” junior Thomas Rochlin said. “However, sometimes I wear an authentic jersey as opposed to other jerseys which are considered replicas. Replicas tend to be more comfortable and cheaper than authentics.”

Orchestra experiences contemporary music at Carnegie Hall

At 7:30 on Friday night, the orchestra attended the concert, “Orchestra Underground: A Time and Place” at Carnegie Hall. It was the second show of three this season and directed by George Manahan. The show featured five pieces, four of them world premieres, and was played in the series, or overall theme, of “time and place.”

NEAD cracks open their 25th production

Since the beginning of September, The New England Academy of Dance (NEAD) has been preparing for their 25th annual production of The Nutcracker. This year, they plan to include higher quality pyrotechnics, an additional charity benefit show, and a brand new dance called “The Roses”.

Students from The Studio “want it to get better”

On September 22nd, 2010, Rutgers student, Tyler Clementi, claimed his own life after his roommate humiliated him by posting a video of Clementi kissing another man online. A month later, the Youtube Video, “We Want It to Get Better (Teens)”, was posted, involving students and instructors from the performing arts school, The Studio, based in New Canaan. Instructors at the performing arts school, located on Forest Street, decided to take action in order to prevent such casualties in the future.
