Super Bowl Preview

I must admit, I’m a little upset about this Super Bowl. I was rooting hard for the Ravens and 49ers, because, anything would’ve been better than another Giants-Patriots Super Bowl. It’s not that I have anything against either of the teams, they’re both very good franchises who have good teams. I don’t think they are the two best teams this year, but that’s besides the point. It’s just that unless it’s my favorite team, the Packers, I’m generally adverse to teams winning two or more Super Bowls in a short time period.

Old People Swag

Sometimes old people are pretty dope. They can do lots of exclusive things that we can’t. Like if you started rocking a snapback that said “Vietnam Troop 77” or went grocery shopping on a mobile scooter, it just wouldn’t work–you’d look like a d-bag. I mean I’d trade all the bling in the world to cop a life alert necklace, but it looks like I’ll just have to wait my turn.

Newt Gingrich: It’s time for you to go.

I am surprised that Republican presidential candidate Newt Gingrich has stayed in the race for this long. Since our May 25 2011 post, Looking ahead at 2012: Newt Gingrich, Gingrich has certainly proven me wrong and has actually managed to launch his campaign. Gingrich has managed to avoid the bottom of the polls, coming in 4th place in the Iowa Caucus with 13% of the vote, and 4th place again in the New Hampshire primary with 9% of the vote. But there is still a lot that will keep Newt Gingrich from getting the Republican nomination. Like I said in our previous post, coming out against Congressman Paul Ryan’s plan to slash Medicare spending lost Gingrich the support of extreme conservatives. His patriotic affair and three marriages haven’t helped his image either.

With the past 17 weeks as a tune-up, the second season is here, the postseason. All the other games were fun, but this is serious. Win, and you advance. Lose, and you go home, your season over. The NFL playoffs are for all the marbles, and the games start this weekend with the wildcard games.

WE WENT TO BURRMONT FOR NEW YEARS!! (pt. 2 of 2)

Greetings from Kate and Gogo! We survived our New Years Eve babysitting gig in Vermont and we have stories to tell…

I have summered with the families that hired us for as long as I can remember, and they are famously fun and crazy. Like convincing my Dad to turn our basement into a dance club kind of crazy. The offspring that my P.I.C. (Partner In Crime) babysat for definitely inherited their parents’ PARTAY-going ways.
