Countdown to the End of the World

According to the Mayans, we will all be witnessing the end of the world this December 21st. Okay. So perhaps they had a li’l bit too much time on their hands between Aztec sacrificial parties, (if you haven’t seen House Bunny, I’m so sorry), or building temples. Regardless, they banged out a comprehensive calendar determining when the world is going to come to an end. What does this mean for us? First things first, there will be a frenzy of tweets and Facebook posts. I already have my potentially “last” tweet composed in my head, so get cracking. Amongst the social media swirl, there is a obviously a need for a last-minute bucket list. Who is there to provide a list for you? …Hey it’s me.

StuCo Update

Will Hennessy- Student Body President
Molly James- Vice Student Body President

To all NCHS students and faculty:

We are very proud to announce that The New Canaan High School Student Coalition (StuCo) just completed the 20th annual Turkey Drive. A total of $1,830.00 was raised in support of the Lower Fairfield County Food Bank.

My PMUNC Experience

At the end of November, I was fortunate enough to go with the NCHS Model UN team to compete in PMUNC, which is Princeton University’s annual MUN conference. Even though I was looking forward to all the debate and fun that MUN always brings, I’d be lying if I wasn’t ready to (in the most respectful way possible) kick some butt in my committee.

Iqbal, like Craig, was just 12 years old, however his young life was one plagued with slavery and child labor. Craig was inspired when Iqbal spoke out against child labor and learned that such a little voice had the power to make a great change.
