Foreign isn’t always good.
This past weekend I was feeling very adventurous and decided to go to a different hair salon. Something new and fresh! (Let’s face it, I’m a total dweeb).
Let me first describe my hair. It at times resembles Hagrid’s from Harry Potter. So, I only asked to get two inches cut off of my ‘fro. Keepin’ it safe, right?
I assumed I was in good hands, despite being in foreign territory, and dozed off while getting my hair washed and lathered, and enjoyed catching up on trashy magazines while getting my hair cut.
I kept thinking to myself, ‘forget Tina, who had been cutting my hair for the past five years- I should have come here ages ago!’
Little did I know my hair was being CHOPPED off.
The final product was me without five inches of hair, which was now full of angles and layers. Didn’t the hairdresser know that people with curly hair should not cut it short to avoid having an afro?!
Cue the fat dancing ladies, and bring on the spandex: I looked like Richard Simmons.
I guess the lesson I learned from this experience is that it’s not always a good idea to take risks, especially when they involve your physical appearance.
