The boys hockey team is off to a strong start this season, led by the play of several key players and the leadership of the senior class. The team, led by Head Coach Clark Jones, has a record of 14-6-2 so far, and is poised to make a deep run in the postseason.
One player who has made a significant impact this season is forward Doster Crowell. According to senior captain Cam Wietfeldt, “Doster Crowell is a huge leader for the offense and always finds a way to put the puck in the net.” Crowell’s strong play has been a major factor in the team’s success this year.
Another player who has been instrumental to the team’s success is goaltender Mason Pickering. “Mason is our goalie and has been solid in net the whole season,” Cam said. “He keeps us in every game.” Pickering’s performance between the goalposts has been crucial to the team’s success this season.
The team’s only freshman, Tony Delcarmine, has also been making a big impact. “Tony Delcarmine is a well-rounded forward,” Cam said. “He has a huge role on this team and I see him having an even bigger impact in years to come.”
The team has already made some impressive achievements this year. “Right now, our record is 14-6-2 and we’re hoping to continue to get better and hopefully not lose another game,” Cam said.
As the team approaches the postseason, Cam Wietfeldt is optimistic about their chances. “I’m really looking forward to the playoffs because I believe this team has a shot at winning it all,” said Cam
Despite the loss of several key seniors, the team’s outlook for next season remains positive. The senior captain says, “We have a few key seniors leaving this year, but there will also be a lot of returners to carry on. Next year, they will be equally competitive, if not better.” The future looks bright for the boys hockey team.
