With five of the top eleven athletes and all seven Rams finishing inside the top 20, New Canaan took home the 1st place trophy in the Boys Large Division at the Winding Trails Invitational, on September 21st, in Farmington.
Once again, it was Senior Captain Ryan Boulanger leading the pack for New Canaan, finishing third overall with a time of 16:21. The next Rams runner that crossed the finish line was John Disturco, setting a personal record with a time of 16:52. First-year runner Ryan Monohan was New Canaan’s third finisher, taking eighth overall. Rounding out the top five for the Rams was Sophomore Charlie Cavanagh and Senior Captain Spencer Paine, who finished in 10th and 11th place.
This was the boys’ second invitational of the season and third race in just seven days. This win secured the team’s second trophy, complementing the one they won at Wilton on Saturday, September 14.
The Rams’ recent success has been recognized via being ranked 10th in the state, according to Marathon Sports CT High School Coaches 2024 XC Boys Poll.
The Ram’s next meet is the historic Whickham Park Invitational in Manchester Connecticut, on Saturday, September 28th
