Barvida vs. Playa Bowls

Barvida vs. Playa Bowls

Barvida and Playa Bowls are two very popular açai bowl stores within Fairfield county. People come from other towns just to get one of these delicious, refreshing, and flavorful bowls. The feud between these two stores has gotten even bigger since the açai bowls increased in popularity within the last few years. I personally have tried both of these stores, and yes they are both delicious – but I definitely know who my winner is.

Starting off with Barvida, Barvida is definitely very environmentally friendly. Barvida gives the option of a glass bowl and bottles for their food/drinks when dining in. This helps the environment and shows Barvida’s devotion to preventing global warming. Not only does Barvida make an effort to be plastic free, but their smoothie bowls are also very organic and healthy for the body. Their bowls and smoothies contain fresh fruits. When I went to Barvida, I got the Blue Wave Bowl. This bowl had a very pleasing light turquoise color and contained hemp seeds, pumpkin seeds, spirulina, almond butter, and protein powder. This bowl is one of Barvida’s most popular bowls, yet I feel like it lacked something for me, and I feel like other teens in the other Fairfield county might agree with me. That is…sweetness. When I had this bowl, I had wished that it had more of a sweeter touch. I could definitely taste all of the fresh ingredients incorporated into this bowl, but it did not fulfill my desire for the sugary açai bowl I had been craving at school all day. This was one major turn off for me at Barvida and was a major influence to my decision of my favorite açai bowl store in Fairfield county.

Moving on, we have Playa Bowls. People may think that Barvida is more environmentally friendly than Playa Bowls because Playa uses only plastic bowls, but actually, this plastic is environmentally friendly. Playa Bowls uses rPET plastic which is made of 100% recycled material. It is made from recycled bottles and food containers and shows Playa Bowls equal devotion to preventing global warming, as to Barvida. Whenever I go to Playa Bowls, I get the Nutella Bowl. This bowl has a deep purple color and is made with an acai base, topped with blueberries, strawberry, Playa’s own special granola, coconut flakes, bananas, and most importantly, the nutella. This fruit tastes equally as fresh as Barvida, and is most definitely the most admired bowl at Playa Bowls. This bowl gives the perfect balance of sweet, but not overly sweet, and definitely fulfills a teens’ desire for a fresh and sweet sugary bowl at the end of a stressful day at school.

Overall, my favorite acai bowl store in Fairfield County is definitely…drum roll please…Playa Bowls! Playa Bowls had various positive aspects from environmentally safe bowls. They not only have a great presentation of their bowls but the bowls also fulfill all aspects of what I would want in a delicious treat.
