Baking with Lauren — Chocolate Chip Cookies!

  • 1 cup room temp unsalted butter
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup bread flour
  • 1 cup AP flour
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup light brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 3/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chopped dark chocolate (60-85%)
  1. Preheat oven to 350F.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, use an electric mixer on high to whip the butter and sugars until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs and vanilla extract and continue to mix until fully incorporated, set aside.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the baking soda, baking powder, salt, and flours until combined.
  5. With the mixer on low, pour about half of the flour mixture into the wet ingredients, mix by hand until fully combined. Then, add the other half and mix until just combined.
  6. Add the chocolate and mix until just incorporated.
  7. Scoop about 2 tablespoons of dough and place on a lined baking sheet, place cookies about 2-inches apart.
  8. Bake for about 15 min at 350F.
  9. Allow cooling on a wire baking rack.
