Growing up, the number one rule is that parents know everything. However, in some cases this precedent needs to be thrown in the fire alongside your vintage number 23 Bulls jersey.
I hate to break it to the parenting world but its pretty evident that not every one of you averaged 20 points a game in high school, and even fewer of you played in college.

This is the first time in March Madness history that there has been a final four without a single No. 1 or No. 2 seed. On top of that, this year’s bracket is the 2nd weakest in history with a total of 37 losses between the teams, falling short of 2000, which had 41.

During last week’s February vacation a lot happened in our schools athletic programs:
Girls’ Basketball:
Sarah Mannelly scored her 1000th point against Danbury in the FCIAC Quarterfinals.
Girls’ Basketball lost to Ridgefield in the FCIAC Semi-Finals. The Rams defeated Middletown 71-41 in the first round of states and play RHAM on Thursday.

It’s the most anticipated time of the year, it dominates lunchroom conversation, and is the pinnacle of glory for those who come out on top. It can make just an average high school boy feel like Shaqueill O’Neil. Located in the gym at the YMCA, Y-Ball dominates the heart and soul of the school.

It’s what every athlete strives for. To be the best player in any given situation at any given time. When you’re 8 you want to be the kid who can touch the net on your elementary school’s 7 foot hoop. Then middle school comes and all of a sudden your legacy as the grade’s legend vanishes because, let’s face it, middle school basketball brings out the worst in every player. The kids who hit puberty first are stuck playing Center and Forward, positions that most of them will likely abandon if they continue on to play high school basketball.
