NCHS drama calls the munchkins to take stage

If you plan on going to the NCHS Freshman and Sophomore production of the Wizard of Oz this fall, make sure you keep an eye out for a group of actors a bit unique from the rest of the cast. The NCHS Drama Department has recruited twenty-five excited students from the New Canaan elementary schools, grades four and under, to take on the roles of the munchkins.

A large number of potential munchkins came out to audition in hopes of getting the chance to play a role in the production of this childhood favorite. A lucky bunch, ranging from ages four to nine were picked based on their talent, singing ability, and of course cuteness…

With that being said, technologically progressive websites, known as Web 2.0, now serve as an alternate and new mode of education. However, as these websites and technologies largely involve video sharing or social networking, they are often seen as a potential distraction while being an alternate educational tool. National Merit Scholar corporation recognizes seniors

On October 30, a number of students will be commended for their accomplishments in the National Merit competition.
According to the National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC), high school students must take the PSAT/NMSQT®. Out of 1.5 million entrants, the 50,000 with the highest Selection Index scores, composed of critical reading, mathematics, and writing subsection scores, have qualified students as either Commended Student or Semifinalists.

Spirit Week Begins! Clone Day

This year’s spirit week kicked off with a bang on Wednesday, October 21, as NCHS students descended on school dressed not in jeans and t-shirts, but in a variety of costumes more suited for Halloween. The much-awaited Clone Day had arrived.
