Field house offers indoor facilities for athletes

For athletes, it is important to prepare year-round in anticipation for a season. However, training and conditioning are hampered by the cold and snow during the winter months. A solution has come in the form of the Sono Field House, an indoor facility with full-size fields on which players can practice lacrosse, soccer, football, and field hockey.

Located in South Norwalk, the Field House offers membership for just $49 a year for an individual or $150 for a family. Members can then pay extra for sessions to hone their skills in their respective sports…

Athlete of the Week, Olivia Hompe

When freshman girls hockey player Olivia Hompe, had a hat-trick (hockey term meaning she scored three goals in one game) in last Monday’s game against Trumbull, she definetely proved her value to the team. The fact that she did this with a cast on a broken arm made her an easy pick for this week’s Athlete of the Week.

Olivia’s hat-trick led New Canaan to a 6-1 victory and their seventh consecutive win. Leadership opportunities open for JV and freshman teams

JV teams this year have been faced with a new ruling: they are no longer allowed to have full –time captains. Instead, coaches are required to designate new captains on a weekly or gamely basis.
