On May 24 the World Language Department held their seventh annual International Night in the cafeteria from 5-7. Students, teachers and parents enjoyed numerous ethnic foods, listened to student performances and watched an award ceremony to honor those who excelled throughout the year.

Starting in September of this coming school year, a new method of entering grades and assignments will be put into place at NCHS. In hopes of diminishing problems that come up between teachers, parents and students, this new form of Powerschool will let students and parents view assignments that teachers put in their grade books online.

Ever see underclassmen walking around with hockey helmets, or with swim caps and goggles on in school? Let’s be honest-who doesn’t like to see the freshmen suffer? Having to do pranks and challenges inside and outside of school are all part of the initiation and hazing traditions.

To break the social barriers in the lounge, the Student Advocates hosted NCHS’ first Freaky Friday during an extended lunch block on Friday the 13th. The Student Coalition, Student Advocates and Emerging Leaders banded together to unify the grades with seating, music and ice cream in what could become a tradition.
