If you’ve ever felt like that photo you posted on Instagram of your dog playing fetch didn’t fully show how cute it is, now there’s an app for that. The social media app Vine is sweeping the school and the app store by sharing short video clips to stay connected.
To use Vine, simply press the video icon at the top of the screen to bring you to the recording page and then press on the screen to start recording. You can either focus on one subject for the entire video, or have a number of different clips grouped together by releasing the screen and switching subjects before pressing on the screen again to record something new. Vine will automatically connect the different shots and loop the video.
After recording your Vine, it only takes a swipe of the finger to decide where to post it to. Currently, there are options to post to your followers on Vine, friends on Facebook or followers on Twitter, but the makers are also planning to connect to even more social media outlets in the future. Like Instagram, there’s also the option to add and explore hashtags to see what the most popular videos are around the country.
Vine is available for free for all Apple products. Follow me @JuliaHardy2013 on twitter for a Vine of the journalism class.
