A Thought a Day Keeps the Boredom Away

This blog is oriented around the idea that it is important to have motivation and a purpose for every day, especially during quarantine. Every other day, there will be a focus and message for the day. The goal is to live each day with this concept in the back of your head so that you can feel productive and uplifted throughout the rest of quarantine.

Day 5: Organization

When it seems like there is no structure left in our lives, it is important that we make a routine for ourselves. Whether that means waking up early or just waking up at the same time every day. It is crucial that we somewhat normalize this situation that we are in so that we don’t drive ourselves insane. Take out a piece of paper or a planner if you have one, and write out each day hour by hour. I know it seems tedious but it will relieve stress and give you reasons not to procrastinate. Oddly enough, this system has given me some motivation over the past few weeks.

REMINDER: The planner does not have to be full of chores and work that you need to do. It could involve reading a book for an hour, painting something, going on a walk with your family, or doing whatever makes you happy. This is supposed to relieve your stress. It’s not meant to make you worry about what is left to do. Compartmentalize and you will start to feel like you are finally getting back into a routine.
