Since the shooting at Columbine High School in 1999, there have been 122 students and teachers killed in mass shootings in schools. In the 21st century alone, there have been 211 school shootings in the United States. Over the years, the responses to these shootings have varied in terms national attention and actual policy change (or lack thereof) that has occurred as a result.
