Thanksgiving day is a time to give thanks, spend time with family, and of course, watch football. This year, the Rams will travel to Darien to challenge the Blue Wave in the 84th Annual Thanksgiving Turkey Bowl. Kickoff is at 10:30 a.m.
This rivalrous tradition, started in 1994, brings a large number of students, faculty and alumni to the stands, regardless of its location. The Turkey Bowl will be the last regular season game for both teams.
According to senior captain Duke Repko, the Turkey Bowl is one of the most exciting games of the season. “[We are] very athletic, [and have]strong coaching across the board. We also have a lot of depth,” Duke said. “If [a player]is not playing well, there are other guys who can step up. We have to beat Darien!”
The Rams have won the past eight Turkey Bowl games. And with the team’s 8-1 record this season, many fans are confident in another victory. “I think we are going to win, but I [also]think its going to be a very competitive game,” Athletic Director Jay Egan said. “[They are] always fun games to watch.”
