The 7th Annual Holiday Stroll, inspired by a Nantucket tradition, will begin tomorrow night from 6 – 9, and continue on Saturday Dec. 3 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. It will consist of entertainment from NCDA and the Studio, and the Waffle Cabin will be serving warm waffles. A variety of Christmas characters, including Santa and his elves, will also be available for picture opportunities. The proceeds of the event will benefit the Saxe Middle School Parent Teacher Committee.
The Holiday Stroll, sponsored with the help of local businesses such as Milestones, Karl Chevrolet, L’Armoire and New Canaan Advertiser, is run by the New Canaan Chamber of Commerce. As one of the Chamber’s main events, it is meant to reinforce the commitment to the New Canaan community and local commerce. Executive Director of the Chamber of Commerce Tucker Murphy calls the event the “official kickoff to the holiday season”.
The Holiday Stroll provides an opportunity for families and friends to bond over the holiday season. “It’s an event that builds community and helps bring our town together every year,” sophomore Emily Hill said. The Stroll will also be a great opportunity for shoppers to get a head-start on crossing things off their Christmas lists, with many stores staying open until 9pm.
Admission to the Holiday Stroll is free.
