Things I’m excited for this NBA season

The NBA players and owners seemed to pull a complete 180 and agree to a new collective bargaining agreement a few weeks ago. And now, the NBA will have a packed 66 game season that will begin on Christmas day and conclude in late June. With that said, here’s what I’m excited about this NBA season.

As colorful leaves are replaced with bare trees and runny noses, there is a seemingly more significant change occurring in the halls of New Canaan High School. It is the end of fall sports and the beginning of the winter season, a time when students will trade in footballs for hockey sticks and much more. With the successes of the fall season, and the desired ones of winter so close, we wonder: what part do superstitions and traditions play in sports?

Rams fall to Daniel Hand in Class L Championship, 34-10

Hopes of a fifth State Championship in six years came to an end on Saturday, December 10th, as the Rams came out on the wrong side of a 34-10 affair, being dominated on both sides of the ball by second-seeded Daniel Hand. Two unbelievable comeback victories in the quarterfinals and semifinals set up a championship game battle with the Tigers, a rematch of last year’s semifinal game, in which the Rams eliminated Hand 39-21. On this night, however, the Rams couldn’t muster up any more magic, and their season came to an unfortunate end with the loss.
