Girls’ lax falls to Darien 13-11 in seesaw battle

In a game that shaped up into another classic New Canaan vs. Darien battle, the girls’ lacrosse team came out on the short end of a tight game, falling 13-11 to the Darien Blue Wave. Despite taking the lead twice in the second half and a six goal performance from sophomore Olivia Hompe, the Rams could not hold on and a strong Darien took advantage, sealing the win with two goals in the final minutes of the game.

Spring break disrupts important AP preparation

The long-anticipated April break promises to be a time of fun and relaxation. One week of great weather with no classes, no homework, and time spent with friends and family. However, for students enrolled in AP classes, spring break means that one week of precious classroom-review time has been taken away less than three weeks before the test.

Students explore and experiment with summer plans

When school lets out June 22, some students will head off to work while others pack their swimsuits and flip flops and retreat to the beach. The just short ten weeks of summer can be spent in a multitude ways: at home hanging with friends, involved in a college preparation class, honing language skills abroad, whipping out a paint brush in community service, or working for minimum wage as a Waveny Camp Counselor.
