Orchestra experiences contemporary music at Carnegie Hall

At 7:30 on Friday night, the orchestra attended the concert, “Orchestra Underground: A Time and Place” at Carnegie Hall. It was the second show of three this season and directed by George Manahan. The show featured five pieces, four of them world premieres, and was played in the series, or overall theme, of “time and place.”
New Canaan outmatched in Class L Title Game

Going into the Class L State Championship game, both teams knew it would be a battle between two high powered offenses. Despite the fact the Rams went down early 16-0, senior captain Kevin Macari struck back with two touchdowns in the second quarter to electrify the crowd, setting the score at 23-14.

While the majority of the student body is still in bed on Saturday morning, sophomore Harrison Miller is already in class. He has been attending Juilliard Pre-College for the bassoon every Saturday since September.
Eleventh Annual Band Festival

This Tuesday, the eighth graders of Saxe Middle School band took to the NCHS stage alongside their older counterparts, following the schools’ eleven-year tradition. The ensembles first played separately (one song by the eighth graders and five by the high school students) then came together, 123 people in all, for the last two pieces.
