Generation Y. We’re hot, tech-savvy, impatient, globalized, spendthrifts, and we’re also suffering from Peter Pan disorder? Huh? Yes, Wikipedia has recently enlightened me that we’re also called the Peter Pan generation, because just like the characters in J.M. Barrie’s tale, we just don’t seem to want to grow up.

Athlete of the Week- Kevin Macari

After three touchdowns and 121 total yards against Wilton last week, Kevin jumped to the fourth most overall career TD’s in NCHS history with 17. This past Friday, November 5th, Kevin did not fail to entertain, receiving four touchdowns, including a 71 yard pick six against Greenwich. Kevin is the athlete of the week for his performance against Greenwich on both sides of the ball.

Pura Vida holds third annual Flag Football Tournament

The Pura Vida club hosted their third annual flag football tournament Sunday, November 8 on the water tower field. There were 23 teams and 151 players.

Sharon Knechtle founded Pura Vida at NCHS four years ago after she went on a mission trip with students. They enjoyed the trip and weren’t ready to have it all end, she said. As a result, they decided to make a year-round club dedicated to helping the world’s impoverished people.

Courant November and December

During the November/December cycle, the Courant will be focusing more on the website because during the last publication cycle the website did not update often. In order to increase the publication for online, stories will be posted according to relevance (timeliness), meaning if an article is covering a specific event it will be published within a week or so about it.

Midterm election keeps CT Democrats in office

Last Tuesday, November 2nd America voted in the midterm elections. The Democrats maintained their majority in the Senate but the Republicans gained control over the House of Representatives. According to Yahoo and Google News, as of this coming January, the Republicans will hold 239 seats to the Democrats’ 188 seats in the House. The Democrats will have 53 seats to the Republicans’ 46 in the Senate.
