In only a few days, the Indianapolis Colts will be competing against the New Orleans Saints for the Lombardi Trophy. The Colts and Saints both feature high powered offenses led by Peyton Manning and Drew Brees, and both teams boast big play defenses hungry for turnovers. New Baseball Coach Mitch Hoffman looks to rebuild team

For the first time since 1991, there is a new man at the helm of our baseball program. Announced as the new coach last November, previous Assistant Varsity Head Coach Mitch Hoffman will take over the reins from Mark Rearic as head varsity coach going into the 2010 season. Mr. Hoffman brings with him an established baseball resume. As the baseball coach and Athletic Director for St. Lukes, Hoffman piloted the Crusaders to several state championships and a winning record until 2005, when he left St. Luke’s High School to found the Bobby Valentine Sports Academy in Stamford.

Coach Hoffman is adopting a philosophy of commitment and dedication with the baseball team…

2nd Annual Girls Hockey Free Skate this Saturday

Tomorrow, the Varsity Girl’s Hockey Team will be hosting a “Family Free Skate,” from 6:30-8, at Terry Connors Ice Rink in Stamford.

The team is selling tickets for $10 throughout the week, however, tickets will also be sold at the door for $10.

The Free Skate is the hockey team’s main fundraiser for the year. Junior tri-captain Jana Persky explained the purpose of the fundraiser. “Since hockey is an expensive sport, with ice time costing up to $450 an hour, players are responsible for more than $20,000…” Jana said.
