Your eyes and ears of the Student Coalition

dolly2Hey Everyone,

Congrats on a successful Homecoming Week! We got such positive feedback from the administration and we couldn’t have done it with out all of you. Each spirit day was filled with tons of spirit and unity–exactly what we were going for.

For Red and Black Day this year, we tried something new. We made the designated areas for the lounge decorations smaller, but we kept it up all day. I really think that this was a change made for the better. We were able to leave the hard work of Student Coalition members up all day for everyone to enjoy. Good job to all grades for really nice decorations. A special shout-out to Class of 2010, WOOOO WE WON DECORATIONS FOR ALL FOUR YEARS! (This hasn’t been done since 1998, a real accomplishment!)

Unfortunately, we had a fireless Bonfire but I hope people had fun anyway. Thanks so much to Big Blue Lee for playing an amazing set of songs. They were such troopers in the freezing cold weather!

Another useful addition to the Bonfire was the refreshments. I think this worked well. Students were able to grab a slice of pizza or warm up with a cup of hot cocoa. Hopefully this will continue next year as well.

The Football game the next day had a great turnout despite the horrendous weather. The Student Coalition continued to sell Homecoming T-Shirts, but at a reduced price. By the way, the shirts will be on sale Wednesday and Thursday of this week as well, for $5. Make sure you get your limited addition Homecoming ’09 shirt ON SALE!

I know, everyone wanted the lights off during the Homecoming Dance. What actually happened was that the DJ forgot to bring lights, so they had to keep some on. Hopefully, this issue will be confronted next year.

Overall, I think everything ran pretty smoothly. I’m very satisfied with the outcome of this year’s Homecoming Week.
Now onto the next order of business – The Turkey Drive coming up next week.

Until next week,

Dolly
