Junior Prom Best Dressed List

By Courant Staff

It’s the most wonderful time of the year! Although it was hard to pick from the variety of dresses that graced the Italian Center just a few weeks ago, these eight really stood out. Read below to see what we had to say about the junior prom looks.

Katharine Kuchinski

This AP student and soccer star stunning in this figure-fitting gown. While hot pink isn’t for everyone, it is certainly is for her. A high neckline left no room for a necklace, letting the dress do the talking. Perfectly bouncy curls finished off the look.

Janie Reddan

Janie stepped off of the track and into this breathtaking, deep v-neck ensemble. A braid and loose curls gave the polished dress a more textured and casual feel, as well as her tiny gold pendant necklace. Well done, Janie, this is JProm done right.

Katherine Freiberg

We loved this dress because it isn’t something we usually see. The embellished bodice and breezy white skirt complimented each other nicely, too. A+, Katharine!

This lacrosse star looked stunning in her black halter dress. The cut-out added dimension, but wasn’t distracting. Sleek hair worked well, and Screen Shot 2015-05-04 at 10.34.52 AMgold earrings were a perfect finishing touch.

Sara Brindisi

Sara looked red hot in this high neckline ensemble. With sheer tulle on the bottom, paired with a overlay at the waist and open-flap back, this was something we have definitely not seen before. To top it all off, Sara designed and sewed the dress herself. To be honest, this looks better than most of the things we’ve ever seen on Project Runway.

Ciao, Bella! We loved the color of Isabella’s dress, especially coupled with the cutouts and slit up the side. While jewelry can usually be hard to pull off, this top-notch student chose the perfect accessories, including fun bangles and a simplistic necklace. Well done.

Katie Hughes

Katie clearly understands the concept of “less is more.” A pale pink in a loose, but still flattering, silhouette didn’t overshadow her natural features. Beautiful gold earrings and a subtle side braid topped off the look.

Sarah Panella

This was such a classic, sophisticated dress. Navy never fails. A half-back hairstyle emphasized the beaded neckline, and simple silver earrings matched perfectly. We simply loved this field hockey player’s dress!
