Ramstock returns with a rocking lineup

On May 18, students took a break from their homework and gathered in the gym from 7:00- 9:00 p.m. to support the Student Coalition’s (StuCo) annual Ramstock. The winners will be announced tomorrow.

This year’s lineup included current students and staff as well as a New Canaan alumni band, “Love Via Dance Machine”, who are recently coming off their tour with Drake Bell. This band features NCHS alumni Alex Badanes, along with bandmates Jimmy Coberly, Izaiah Yelle and Wiley Esten.

Ready… Set… Recruit: Bobby Distler

As most seniors are starting to slack off, boys’ Varsity lacrosse captain, Bobby Distler, is in his final lacrosse season at NCHS before he heads to Lynchberg college to play for the Division 3 Hornets.

New Canaan’s photographers are awarded at the Carriage Barn exhibit

As the New Canaan Society of the Arts is presenting their 32nd annual photography exhibition at the Carriage Barn Arts Center of Waveny Park from Jan. 22nd to Feb. 19th, four members of our NCHS Community
received awards for their work. The show was evaluated by Joan Fitzsimmons, an award winning photographer and professor of photography at the Norwalk Community College in Norwalk, CT.

Model UN Club achieves success at ILMUNC

From Jan. 26-29, members of the Model United Nations (MUN) club travelled to the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia to participate in the 28th Ivy League United Nations Conference (ILMUNC), where they performed better than ever at the conference and took home top awards.

Improving education by recycling an old cell phone

Because electronics continue to be replaced for the latest version, the Hope 4 Ghana Club has arranged a fundraiser from Jan. 4-14 to provide another alternative to simply throwing away old electronics.

The club is collecting used cell phones, lap tops, MP3 players, iPods, handheld games, GPS, video cameras and still cameras that can be dropped off in the boxes in NCHS main lobby or Saint Luke’s School. The money raised will support the Ghana Children’s Fund, an organization started by senior Julia Tuttle’s family, that benefits the Good Shepherd Orphanage in Ghana
