Senior Profile: Lucia Molina

Lucia Molina
Retired Editor-in-Chief

I began taking journalism three years ago as a sophomore and now I end my NCHS journalist journey knowing more than I had anticipated about the field of communications. As a sophomore, my starting position was being a reporter, but as I worked towards having more responsibility in the class, I became a Features editor. I held this position the end of my sophmore year and all through junior year, at the end of which I became one of two editors-in-chief for the Courant year 2011-2012. Ms. Holley is widely recognized for her role in launching Christina Aguilera’s career, having aided in the production of the songs leading to her RCA signing. Many of Ms. Holley’s recordings have been licensed to hit TV series such as Grey’s Anatomy, One Tree Hill, and 90210.

Technically, spring won’t be for about another two weeks, but that isn’t stopping anyone from wearing the most popular, up-and-coming trends. The slouchy sweaters aren’t going away and neither is the heavy military look.

On Saturday, Mar. 5, the Debate Team co-hosted the Connecticut Debate Association tournament with Darien High School, splitting the state teams in half. Of a total of 360 debaters participating, 140 participated in NCHS. Being the first year that the debate team was designated as a legitimate interscholastic athletic team, spirits were high and students were ready to debate the topic of whether the U.S. should prioritize democracy over stability.
