Hearing that there is a snow day is arguably some of the best news you will hear in your life. However, once the clock hits noon, and your yummy snow day breakfast has begun to wear off, you may not know what to do with all your extra time. In order to brave the storm of boredom, here are some things to do to make your day exciting from start to finish.

1. Make maple/ honey snow pops

Pretty simple, but just in case here is a recipe

2. Have a cook-off like a cooking show cook off with whoever is home

Bonus if you can get out of the house and try “Guy’s’ Grocery Games.”

3. Learn to play a gangster song on the piano

Watch this amazing video for some inspiration.

4. Make your parents cook you a gourmet meal

I mean, they are also stuck inside all day.

5. Instead of a lemonade stand, have a hot chocolate stand

If no one drives by, make your parents buy a cup out of pity.

6. Play little pranks on your parents and see how much you can annoy them before they get mad

7. Reorganize your room according to the rules of feng shui

Step one: look up what feng shui is.

8. Build an igloo

I recommend taking a bread pan and packing the snow into it to make brick; if you can figure out how to do the top, let me know.

9. Look into your astrology

11. Combine foods that you don’t think go well together, and see if they work

I actually think jalepeños and grapes may be the snack of the century.

12. Put random foods in a blender and have your parents give them a nice taste test

13. If you are a girl, try to teach the boys in your family how to tie a ponytail, or if you are a boy, attempt to tie a pony tail

It is an important life skill.

14. Replace one of your family photos with a picture of Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson and see how long it takes for someone to notice the swap

15. Lie outside in the snow and see how many inches you can accumulate

16. Type any symptoms you have ever felt in your life into WebMD and see what diseases you could have

Just kidding please don’t do this

17. Peel a lemon like an orange and see if you can eat the whole thing

18. Make a music video

My personal favorite.

Apple?… you mean applay?

21. Make a Wordle as a throwback to middle school days

22. Look on youtube for what you think is going to be the next big dance craze and get one step ahead of everyone else

Dogs need labels too.

East schoolers don’t forget: “no matter what the outside throws at me oooooo I’m able to react responsibly with (base drop) decency, fairness…”

28. On that note… dust off that old recorder

Nothing says snow day like hot cross buns!
