Boy’s soccer advances in FCIAC tournament after 2-1 win against Norwalk

Last Friday night the boy’s soccer team beat Norwalk 2-1 in the first round of the FCIAC tournament.

After a grueling first half, senior co-captain Tim Pritchard made a goal off of a free kick bent into right corner of the goal. “[Senior co-captain] John-Luke Ferrandino scored the second goal in the lower right corner with 5 to 6 minutes left on the clock and the bench went crazy,” said sophomore Jack O’Rourke.

Underlying ethics of Mischief Night

As the children of New Canaan excitedly prepare for a night of innocent trick-or-treating fun, others may be getting ready to participate in a night of traditional mischief, adequately dubbed Mischief Night.

Students on October 30 take part in pranks such as toilet papering trees, egging houses, and ding dong ditching. According to junior Duke Repko, it is typical to have previously arranged plans for the night. “The plans are very well thought out, usually there’s a plan B, or maybe even a plan C in case something goes wrong,” he said.

The last thing senior Wesley Rhudy remembers before waking up in an ambulance is the face of a running back: “I was about to make the tackle and then out the blue…bam, I was out cold,” he said. “I woke up sometime later and my head was spinning.”
