ABC creates a modern kind of family

In its thriving second season, ABC’s Modern Family has become the new face of network-television family comedy. Reconnoitering three types of a dysfunctional family, the show depicts the blossoming of a traditional, a homosexual, and an interracial marriage, all intertwined to create a new kind of family.

Students recite verse at 4th Annual Poetry Fest

In honor of National Poetry Month, the Fourth Annual Poetry Fest was held in the Wagner Room at 7 p.m. on Apr. 14. Hosted by English teachers Kristen Brown and Melissa Rampelli, students gathered to perform their original work. Over 60 student poets presented their poetry, each competing for one of the four awards including Best Poem, Best Imagery, Best Presentation of a Poem and Best Play on Words. Four honorable mentions were also given in each award category.

Physics Bowl provides more challenges for physics students

On Tuesday, Apr. 5, all Honors and AP Physics students participated in the annual Physics Bowl held at the high school. This comes on the heels of the Junior Engineering Technical Society (JETS) team’s impressive win at the March 15 JETS state championships at New Haven University. Varsity “A” and Junior Varsity brought home gold medals in their divisions, and Varsity “B” earned bronze.
