Live electronic band D-Numbers holds concert and workshop

Since the invention of the commercially produced synthesizer in the 1960’s, electronic music has expanded exponentially, from the new wave dance pop of Depeche Mode and New Order to more contemporary artists like Daft Punk and Girl Talk. Today, Friday, May 28, the live electronic band D-Numbers will be holding a concert/workshop in the auditorium during A and B periods.

World War II Veterans come to NCHS for Memorial Day assembly

For those students who have watched the new HBO mini-series The Pacific, the characters and the violent battles of World War II are graphic and realistic. But even more vivid are the stories of the men who actually served in those campaigns, more than a hundred of whom will be coming here tomorrow, Thursday, May 27, for the annual pre-Memorial Day veterans assembly.

The assembly will run from 10:30-12:30, but according to Social Studies Department Chair Richard Webb, it may run a little longer. “This is probably going to the longest assembly yet, so we may be excusing kids from 10-1,” Mr. Webb said.

Drood murdered the competition, sweeping in seven awards

At the Connecticut High School Music Theater Awards at the Bushnell Theater in Hartford this past Monday, NCHS walked away from the ceremony with seven awards out of fifteen nominations for The Mystery of Edwin Drood.

Photos: Physics classes venture to Six Flags

On Tuesday, May 25, over 100 students in Physics classes went to Six Flags in Jackson, New Jersey for an all-day field trip to explore the science in roller coasters and to enjoy a day in the park.

NCTV wins big at 6th Annual Access Awareness Awards

Every year, the Area Nine Cable Council and Cablevision of Connecticut honor students for their original television productions. Out of 280 student videos submitted for the competition, the students from NCTV walked away with five Educational Access Awareness or “Eddy” awards.
